This is the original logo for the company i founded.
A scrawny naked guy strains under the weight of a Stone Logo.
It's about being a slave to your art and struggling against the ods.
Having a giant 3D Logo was extremely handy! It was small enough that it fit behind the drums even on the smallest stage.
Very vercitile.
After 30+ years this GWAR logo is STILL the most popular one!
Funny, Scary, Cool but Nerdy Barbarically Scientific!
with a little space pirate thrown in
a celebration of Life AND Death!
I wish I had a Nickel for everybody who got this tattooed on 'em!
i did a lot of black & white logos trying to stand out on a page full of competing band logos in the Local Weekly Entertainment Paper.
Often I would make a fairly blank and generic design and ink it or fill in details many different ways.
This one I filled the blank area with a texture of squirming maggots, which was an idea I got from one of the other GWAR artists.
This is one of my favorites that was a Charles Varga design that I inked and embellished. All the GWAR artists use to pencil and ink each others work to give it a different look and learn from each other.
This is a black & white photo of the rubber 3D logo from the cover of the America Must Be Destroyed CD and the Phallus in Wonderland DVD
This was done as part of the Scumdogs Of the Universe CD package.
this logo was perfect for the back of a pair of black GWAR panties.
